Titanium alloy TA3 (international designation: ASTM Grade 3, also known as UNS R50550) is a high-strength grade within the industrial pure titanium series, characterized by its combination of high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good weldability. Among the four industrial pure titanium grades—TA1, TA2, and TA4—TA3 ranks highest in strength but exhibits slightly lower ductility than TA1 and TA2. It is the material of choice for manufacturing critical corrosion-resistant equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, and piping systems and tower linings handling highly corrosive chemicals. It is also used to produce corrosion-resistant components for offshore platforms, deep-sea equipment, and desalination plants.
